It may come natural to you, but learning English can be one of the most challenging tasks for adults. The English language is convoluted, filled with conflicting rules, confusing sounds, and different conditions where the pronunciation of words is baffling, even to those of us who have spoken the English language our entire lives. But for many millions of people who strive to succeed in industries that are dominated by English, studying and learning how to read, write, and speak English is an enormous undertaking.
Fortunately, there are enormous numbers of resources available to people who wish to adapt the English language as a second language. With immigration to major English-speaking countries still very high (England, United States, Canada, Australia), the need to learn English is important in order to be able to practice their skills and trades in the English nations. But with countless study materials available on the Internet, audio courses, interactive English videos and software, as well as traditional English teaching and immersion classes, learning the English language isn't as challenging a task as it once was.
In cities such as Vancouver, British Columbia, there are hundreds of English speaking courses and resources available to those who wish to come to Canada to study English. Foreign students from many Asian countries (Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, India), come to Canada and immerse themselves in the English-speaking culture, learning to speak and understand English in accelerated fashion. And there's nothing better than being placed inside a culture to learn and adapt to that culture, including language and customs.
