Copywriters — you know that writing copy, helping other business sell their services, and helping them to educate their clients, is a fun and profitable way to make a living. Each new project is a different opportunity for us to stretch ourselves. A new opportunity for us to grow as individuals.

You know as well as anyone that copywriting is a skill — connecting with people through the written word is a unique talent most people don't posses skill, especially in a sales setting.

In addition to writing copy, coaching your clients on marketing and other ways to grow their business is a great way to complement your sales and marketing skills, AND earn additional income. Adding sales and marketing coaching to your portfolio of services is a great way to further help your clients and stretch yourself in yet another way.

How easy is it to offer coaching to your clients?

It's easy! As you meet with and interview your current clients during copywriting projects, look for other ways you can help them. It may be in the form of a brainstorming session, help with a marketing plan or other future planning.

Another idea that works well is to package the coaching services with your copywriting pricing. You may even offer two different pricing options, one with coaching and one without.

However, not everyone has the skill set to coach. Coaching involves patience, creativity, and objectivity.
